The Geoenergia Lab at Santa Catarina State University (UDESC) organized the 35th International Conference on Discrete Simulation of Fluid Dynamics (DSFD 2026), held in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, Brazil, from June 29 to July 3, 2026, and chaired by Prof. Luiz A. Hegele Jr.
Since 1986, the DSFD conference series has brought together researchers working on computational fluid dynamics based on discrete and kinetic methods to present and discuss advances in the field.
The 2026 edition included scientific presentations, including invited talks, tutorials, and contributed oral presentations. Topics included the lattice Boltzmann method, multiphase flows, numerical analysis, porous-media flows, high-performance computing, turbulence, magnetohydrodynamics, fluid-structure interaction, and other applications of kinetic methods.
The full program, including abstracts of invited talks, tutorials, and presented works, is available in the Book of Abstracts (PDF, 15 MB).

» Information on the event is also available on the official DSFD 2026 website.
A special issue dedicated to contributions from DSFD 2026 is being prepared for the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering and will open soon. Authors who participated in DSFD 2026 through oral presentations, invited talks, or tutorials will be invited to submit full manuscripts. Authors may already consult the journal’s submission guidelines and manuscript templates. Further information on the submission process and deadlines will be announced soon.
DSFD 2026 was supported by Santa Catarina State University (UDESC), Petrobras, and the Fundação Instituto Tecnológico de Joinville (FITEJ).
