Objective:

To train professionals qualified to critically analyze and solve contemporary socioeconomic problems at the national and international levels. The program provides a solid general and technical education, preparing economists capable of understanding and addressing the complex dynamics that shape economic and social realities.

Scope of Practice:

Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics have a wide range of opportunities in the job market, working in public, private, and third-sector organizations. Among the most common areas are: economic analysis and consulting, public administration, the financial sector, private companies, and applied research. The degree represents only the beginning of a professional career, encouraging continuous training and the enhancement of knowledge and skills to keep pace with the constant changes in the market and the socioeconomic reality.

Professional Profile:

Graduates of the ESAG/UDESC Economics program are prepared to work in various types of organizations, applying theoretical and quantitative tools to decision-making and proposing solutions to challenges arising from resource scarcity. They are qualified to contribute to the formulation of macroeconomic policies in the public sector, work in consulting firms, pursue entrepreneurship in the private sector, and perform strategic roles in the financial market.
