They are members of the University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC), in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, combining strong backgrounds in geology, mathematics, and engineering to advance research in computational modeling applied to geosciences and petroleum engineering. Daniel Bettú has extensive experience in applied geophysics, hydrogeology, geostatistics, petroleum geology, and geological modeling, focusing on reservoir characterization and stratigraphic forward modeling. Lindaura Steffens specializes in computational mechanics, mathematical modeling, and numerical simulation of physical phenomena, with emphasis on real-time applications and well testing. Ana Paula Soares has experience in reservoir characterization, sedimentology, and stratigraphic modeling, with expertise in integrating geochemical, hydrodynamic, and geophysical data for petroleum-system analysis. Diego Alex Mayer works with computational methods applied to engineering, focusing on numerical modeling and simulation for process and reservoir analysis. Together, they merge scientific and technological approaches to develop innovative methodologies for reservoir modeling, flow simulation, and applied computational research in petroleum systems.

Paulo César Soares (Geologist, UFRGS 1967; PhD, Univ Paulista1973) with experience in quantification and Regional Geology, Sedimentary basins, exp. mineral, water and oil using quantitative methods. He works on topics such as Pantanal, sedimentary basins, geoenvironmental changes, paleosurfaces, paleoclimates. He worked at Petrobras (1968-71), was a professor at UNESP (1972-80), freelance consultant (1980-85, 2000-), prof. UFPR (1985-2000) and visiting researcher at Northwestern University, under the guidance of Dr. Lawrence Sloss (1976-77), CNPq researcher (1978-1980 and 1988-2000) and Prof. senior - Post Professor UFPR (2000-2008).

Bruno Mateus Bazzo (Petroleum Engineering, UDESC 2025) participated as an undergraduate research fellow in the Forward I project. He interned in the Engineering Management department at SCGÁS, and at the CERTI Foundation, in the Intelligent Systems team supporting Integrity Management. He is a Researcher in Engineering and Technology on the Forward II project.

Endriw Rafael Mateus Silva (Petroleum Engineer, UDESC - 2025) has professional experience as a Research Intern in the Forward I project and later as an Engineering and Research Intern in an Oil Spill Containment project (GeoEnergia-Lab). Throughout these experiences, developed strong skills in programming and software development for engineering applications. An academic background combined with leadership and research involvement has contributed to a solid foundation in the energy and oil & gas sectors. Currently works as a Researcher in Engineering and Technology in the Forward II project.

Carlos Eduardo Corrêa Medeiros (Petroleum Engineer, UDESC 2023). Professional experience as a research intern in the Forward I project. Currently works as a Researcher in Engineering and Technology in the Forward II project – Calibration of Forward Models of Reservoirs with Well Data. He is also a Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering at UDESC.

Jessica de Souza Brugognolle (Petroleum Engineer, UDESC 2019; master's student in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Modeling and Numerical Simulation). Fluent English and knowledge of some software such as DionisosFlow from Beicip-Franlab, IMEX from CMG, Excel (VBA), MatLab, among others. Practice in programming languages such as Python and C++. Scientific initiation in calibrating forward reservoir models with well data.

João Vitor Lottin Boing (Petroleum Engineer, UDESC 2020; Master in Mechanical Engineering, UDESC 2022)

Akira Rhuda Oviar Yabushita (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC) served as a graduate assistant for Calculus I and Physics I. He joined the Forward Team as a Scientific Initiation Fellow in 2023.

Maria Beatriz Margutti Ferreira (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC) served as graduate assistant for the subjects Calculus I, Analytical Geometry and Linear Algebra. She joined the Forward group in August 2024, as a scientific initiation fellow in the area of computational implementations for automation and systems integration.

Thiago Martins Fernandes (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC). Currently, he is a Scientific Initiation Fellow in the Calibration Project of Forward Models of Reservoirs with Well Data (Forward 2), working on the research part focused on calibration.

Paulo Vítor de Souza Navegante (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC) worked in the IT Coordination of the University and currently is a Scientific Initiation Fellow in the Calibration Project of Forward Models of Reservoirs with Well Data (Forward II).

Clauryn Camily Azevedo Colle (Petroleum Engineering student, UDESC) joined the Forward Team as a scientific initiation fellow in September 2025. Previously, she contributed as a graduate assistant for Physics II.

Jozianne Cadi Vieira Turé (Petroleum Engeneering Student, UDESC) served as a pre-vestibular assistant for English subject and financial maneger of CAEP UDESC Academic Center for Petroleum Engineering. Currently She is a Scientific iniciation fellow on the Calibration Project of Forward Models of Reservoir With Well Data ( Forward II).

Jair Antonio Schmitt Junior (Petroleum Engineering student at UDESC since 2023/1) served as a teaching assistant for Physics I and Pre-Physics from 2023/2 to 2025/1. Joined GPER – Forward Team as an undergraduate research fellow in 2025/2, working on oil well modeling with emphasis on applied geology, programming, and data analysis.

Ana Gabriela Abreu Silva (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC) served as a Pre-Calculus I instructor and as a teaching assistant for Linear Algebra and Analytic Geometry. In August 2025, she joined the Forward 2 project.

Gabriella Avellar Ottmann (Geologist, UFSC 2025). During her undergraduate studies, she completed several internships in the field of environmental geology at medium and small companies. At the university, she actively participated in the Geology course committee, in the Geological Mapping Laboratory, and in university extension projects. Her bachelor’s final project focuses on geocommunication and the conservation of the stratigraphic section of the White Column, located in the Serra do Rio do Rastro in Santa Catarina, which is known for its importance to global stratigraphy and is available to the public in website format.
