Master’s in Economics (Academic)

The Master’s Program in Economics (Academic), offered by the School of Administration and Economics (ESAG), aims to foster research, analysis, debate, and the training of researchers through the application of various theoretical approaches in economics, in order to contribute to the understanding of and the proposal of solutions for the challenges facing economic development in Santa Catarina and Brazil. The objectives are:

To train researchers with high technical and intellectual proficiency to understand and solve economic problems in the public and private sectors, at both the microeconomic and macroeconomic levels.

To expand and establish high-quality scientific output with relevant contributions to economic literature in leading national and international journals.

To prepare professionals to conduct market studies, feasibility studies, and socioeconomic impact studies.

To foster debate on innovations in economic activities, taking into account ethical issues, sustainability, the reduction of inequalities, and other social, political, and economic problems.

To contribute to the discussion, development, and analysis of scenarios, economic plans, public policies, and business and administrative action strategies.
