Admission process
Get answers to your questions about the admissions process
Who is eligible to apply?
Anyone with a bachelor’s degree (for master’s programs) or who already holds a master’s degree (for doctoral programs). Degrees must be from an officially recognized program and may be in any field.
Can I apply to more than one program at the same time?
No. Applicants must choose only one of the programs offered (Professional Master’s, Academic Master’s, Academic Doctorate, or Professional Doctorate). If the same person applies to more than one program, only the most recent application will be considered; the others will be canceled.
What is the difference between a professional master’s and an academic master’s?
The Professional Master’s (not to be confused with an MBA) focuses on achieving a high level of professional qualification in the field of Business Administration. The Academic Master’s, on the other hand, prepares researchers and professors in the field. Both the professional and academic programs lead to the same degree (Master’s).
Will I be competing with all applicants for the same program?
No. The spots are divided among 11 Research Groups/Specialty Areas, as shown in the table included in the call for applications. Applicants must choose one of these groups during registration (and cannot change it later). Those who choose the same group within the same program will compete against each other.
What else do I need to do before applying?
In addition to providing the personal documentation required in the call for applications, applicants must prepare and submit a research proposal to be developed during the program. The proposal must be written according to the template provided in the call for applications and must be compatible with the Research Group/Area of Specialization that the applicant will choose during registration.
How do I apply?
Access the Selection Process page between March 2, starting at 2:00 PM, and April 6, 2026, at 5:59 PM. Fill out the online form available on the website, also uploading the documents required in the announcement, scanned in PDF format. The payment slip for the R$ 70 fee is generated by the same system during the application process.
How does the selection process work?
In the first stage—which is mandatory, qualifying, and eliminatory—the research proposal is evaluated according to the criteria described in the call for applications. Qualified candidates proceed to the second stage, which includes an oral exam and an evaluation of their Lattes curriculum. The final grade takes into account the candidate’s performance in both stages of the selection process.
Can I use supporting materials, such as slides, during the project presentation?
No, during the oral exam, which will be conducted online, the use of multimedia resources (screen sharing) will not be permitted. The candidate may only refer to their own research project submitted during registration.
What topics are covered in the oral exam?
The oral exam primarily assesses the candidate’s knowledge in the research area, the clarity and coherence of the project, and their ability to present arguments. To prepare, it is essential to review your topic, thoroughly understand your methodology, practice defending your ideas, and study the bibliographies indicated in the Call for Applications.
How will I find out the results?
All information regarding the selection process, including the results, will be published on the Selection Process page, as per the call for applications. The final results are scheduled to be announced on July 10, 2026.
And after being accepted?
Successful applicants must enroll in their chosen program from July 20 to 22, 2026, using the form available on this page, and submit the specific enrollment documentation described in the call for applications.
When do classes start?
Classes begin on August 3, 2026. In the first semester, master’s and doctoral students must take at least two required courses for their program.
What are the class schedules?
Classes are in-person and take place Monday through Friday, and may be held in the morning, afternoon, and/or evening; for courses in the Professional Program, classes are primarily held in the evening.
The academic calendar is prepared and published at the beginning of each semester, including course schedules.
What is the tuition for the courses?
The courses are free and of high quality.
Are scholarships available for master’s or doctoral students?
Yes. Scholarships are available from the university and funding institutions.
After admission, students may apply for these scholarships based on availability.
What if I still have questions?
