Welcome to UDESC’s Research Coordination

UDESC has demonstrated a continuous commitment to advancing research and graduate studies. The institutional research policy reflects the importance of this activity as a driver of social, cultural, and technological development in all regions of Santa Catarina. The research projects conducted at UDESC have played a significant role in this context, making a substantial contribution to the State's progress.

In 2023, UDESC offered a total of 583 research scholarships, funded both with its own resources and through the Brazilian National Research Council (CNPq). Additionally, 916 research projects have been developed, covering various fields of knowledge. Currently, the institution has 227 registered research groups, distributed across 8 fields of knowledge, thus strengthening UDESC's capacity for innovation and scientific production.

These numbers demonstrate the university's commitment to fostering an environment conducive to research and academic development, contributing tangibly to the progress and well-being of the Santa Catarina society.

Strategic Planning Guidelines

• 1st Guideline: Contribute to solving problems related to societal development by promoting research.
• 2nd Guideline: Develop research in the focus areas of its stricto sensu graduate programs, master's and doctoral degrees, and in research groups aimed at generating knowledge in both basic and applied fields.
• 3rd Guideline: Systematically evaluate internal and external research to ensure effective quality, contribution to regional development, prioritization, and dissemination of intellectual production in high-impact outlets.
• 4th Guideline: Develop research in partnership with companies and other national and international educational and research institutions through shared projects aimed at regional development.
• 5th Guideline: Encourage the production and dissemination of knowledge generated in graduate programs, research groups, and scientific initiation.
